2011 CWL Christmas Brunch
The 2011 CWL Annual Christmas Luncheon held at Ramekins
this year was delicious! The atmosphere was quiet and festive,
the conversation sparkling, and the service excellent
considering what a big crowd we were.
2011 CWL Pot Luck Supper
Best Potluck EVER! Your loss if you weren’t at the Catholic Women’s League dinner October 20, 2011. A great variety of food ppeared on the beautifully decorated tables, along with a killer Punch laced with cranberries and desserts galore that included the promised Cheesecake from Margaret-Anne Wojcik.
We were joined by Msgr. Joe Lynch, Deacon Bob Wojcik and his wife, Margaret-Anne (obviously) and a special guest, newly ordained priest, Fr. Jan Kusyk. He said he would sub for Fr. Timmins anytime, given the food and welcome! After the dishes were cleared, mingling and a sing-a-long of popular tunes ensued till everyone was upbeat and dancing out the door. Thanks to all who decorated, cooked, baked, cleaned-up and showed up for a good time! 2010 Christmas Bake Sale
What a tremendous response from our parish community in donating baked goods and all sort of items for the CWL annual bake sale. Our proceeds were almost $1,800. We wish to thank everyone for their donations along with all the ladies who came out in force to help in setting up, clean up and of course being there to help in any way possible.
As can be seen in the photos we had a really fun day!
2010 Christmas Lunch
Our CWL ladies met at Minos on December 14th for our Christmas luncheon. It's always lovely getting friends together and catching up with each other's news at this time of year. Great food and company, what more could you ask for? Why not join us next time! See some photos!
2009 Altar ServersThe Catholic Women's League would like to say a big thank you to all our alter servers over this past year for a job well done. A thank you card and movie gift voucher was given to all recipients after Sunday June 21st mass, with Frances L. and Diane Wilkin making the presentation. Thank you to all the parents of our alter servers for their continued support of their students being involved in the Eucharistic celebration at our masses in The Church of the Good Thief.
Claire, Jacob & Turner Gazeley 2009 CWL Past Presidents' Lunch
Angel MacKinnon our CWL president of the last 2 years was given a farewell presentation lunch at Ramekins restaurant by our Church of Good Thief membership ladies. Angel's energy and organization was appreciated in the many projects our CWL Council carried out.
The photos (click on above photo to see all) show Angel being presented with a Certificate of Merit and a bouquet of (friendship) yellow roses from her fellow sisters. God Bless in your new pursuits Angel! 2008 Altar Servers
On Saturday and Sunday 7 & 8 June the CWL made a presention to our many Alter Servers in our parish. These young people are a great example of being active in the church and helping make the Eucharistic celebration a special and spiritual time for each of us.
A thank you card and gift certificate was presented to each Alter Server with much appreciation from Father Boyle and The Catholic Women's League. 2008 Plant and Bake Sale
Plant/Bake Sale ... We are pleased to announce we made $1065 on the weekend of May 31.
This exceeds last year's total of $775. It takes many people, a lot of time, and teamwork to hold
these events. Thank you so much to everyone who participated!!!
2008 Kingston Archiocesan Council Convention
The 2008 Kingston Archiocesan Council convention took place at the Ambassador hotel on May 3rd & 4th and it was an amazing and sucessful weekend. We had many great speakers as well as a video that was an inspiration by Dewitt Jones of the National Geographic called "Celebrate what's right with the world". This can be viewed on the internet and is so well worth watching, just google the above title to view. All our members who attended were delighted and inspired by it all, as can be seen by these photos. Newfoundland music was played by a wonderful band on the Saturday night and many ladies took the opportunity to step out on the floor and kick up their dancing heels. Our Spiritual advisor Rev. Shawn Hughes celebrated with us the whole weekend and was full of praise for how well it was all organized. COME AND JOIN US NEXT YEAR AT OUR ANNUAL CONVENTION!
